East Valley Helps to Provide Thanksgiving Meals to Over 100 Patients' Families
November 30, 2015
This year, East Valley Community Health Center continued its annual tradition of partnering with the West Covina Rotary Club and local elected officials to provide Thanksgiving meals to selected patients and their families. Over 100 families were chosen to receive a frozen turkey and a basket filled with Thanksgiving food staples, such as pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, and canned vegetables.
Each family was selected according to need by their own individual healthcare providers. Our organization believes that it is important that each and every person, regardless of their economic level, deserves a Thanksgiving meal to share with those that they love.
Local elected officials, Grace Napolitano, Rodger Hernandez, Norma Torres, Ed Hernandez, Freddie Rodriguez, and Connie Leyva provided frozen turkeys and the West Covina Rotary Club provided the Thanksgiving food baskets. The West Covina Elk’s Club provided their organization’s large refrigeration unit to store the turkeys overnight.
Thank you to each and every person who helped to make this program a reality. With the support and contribution of community leaders, East Valley is able to give families a reason to be thankful and hopeful each year.
